When the white settlers in Apartheid_Rhodesia saw the writing on the wall, as Britain “granted” independence to more and more of its former colonies1, in 1965 the Rhodesian Apartheid regime of Ian Smith unilaterally declared its independence from Britain, so as to continue white rule in the colony.
