Though Namibia was originally “granted” to Apartheid_South_Africa by the United Nations as a mandate, after years of being a colony of Germany (years which included the Herero Genocide), SWAPO fought alongside the African National Congress and Cuba to finally secure independence in 1990, after the Battle of Cuito Cuanavale in 1988.
